Wednesday is the last day to turn in the Tim Gregory Scholarship.

Sports: At the Ridgedale meet on Saturday the girls finished in 5th place. Sophia Volpe had a 1st place finish in both the 1600 & 3200m; Riann Reinhart finished 2nd in the discus; Erika Gonzales & Jaden Ogg finished 3rd in the 1600m & pole vault respectively. Sophia Volpe was awarded “Athlete of the Week”. Congratulations!

The boys finished in 6th place. Nick DeHaven garnered first place finishes in both the 1600 & 3200m; Austin Goodman took 2nd in the pole vault & in the Ironman Relay Ben Heck, Baley Reiter, Maco Gonzalez & Vinny Volpe finished 2nd. Greg Ricker added a third place finish in the 1600m. Great job!

Good morning everyone! This is just a reminder that you still have a chance to win a prize! Good morning! You have a chance to win one of the three prizes we are going to be giving away for the Ronald McDonald House Project! If you don’t remember, the Ronald McDonald House is a building not far from the hospital in Toledo so that a family with a serious medical crisis that lives far from the hospital and would not otherwise be able to see their child often would be able to stay and live near their child who was in the hospital. It is a home away from home! To help these families out (and possibly win one of the mystery prizes), bring in the items listed on the sheet that was sent to each teacher and home to all parents! On Thursday, March 30th, Family Groups will be working on Earth Day projects for Leadership Day. Some family groups will be staying at the school; some will be picking up trash around Gray Park, City Pool & Reservoirs 1 & 2 and still others will be touring the Water Treatment Plant. Permission slips for the Trash Pick Up and Water Treatment Plant need to be signed and returned by Wednesday, March 29th.  All students may wear jeans, St. Wendelin shirt and tennis shoes.

Please continue to save those pop cans!!  There will be a box in the lobby to collect donations. Thank you in advance for your help!

SWYM is going to the Newsboys Concert this Friday March 3rd. Carpool will leave at 3:15PM from the parish parking lot. Cost for the ticket is $28. Please let me know ASAP if you can make it! We should be back around midnight if not before. Please bring extra money for food and souvenirs.

Just a reminder that the Mini Mohawk Cheer Clinic (Gr. K-6) is tomorrow (Saturday, Jan. 28th) from 9:00 – 11:00a in the south gym.  The Mini Mohawks will cheer during halftime of Saturday night’s boys’ varsity basketball game against Arcadia.

Student Council is currently selling insulated tumblers and thermal travel mugs. You can purchase 1 for $12 or 2 for $20. Please see the attached order form to view these items. Orders are due Wednesday, February 1st.

The second pancake breakfast will be held this Sunday, January 29th from 8:00a to 1:00p in the Parish Hall. This is also the kick-off of Catholic Schools week and will include a K-12 Art Show and increased student participation in the masses.

All Fridays in February (3/ 10/ 17/ 24) will be designated Jeans Days to raise money for the Honor Flight and to help purchase a new flag for midblock in Fostoria. Cost will be $1 each Friday for elementary, $2 each Friday for junior high/ high school/ faculty & staff.

In last evening’s WBGC-TV BRAIN GAME, the St. Wendelin Quiz Bowl team won over Stryker High School 305-70. Immediately after, St. Wendelin likewise defeated Fostoria High School with the closing score of 230-200. These will be aired on Feb. 2 at 9 and 9:30pm. St. Wendelin will move to the quarter finals on February 23rd. The victorious St. Wendelin team consisted of Grace Campbell, Michaela Frohnen, Ben Heck, Kayla Hunter, and Patrick Pariseau. 

The St. Wendelin show choir is seeking 5 new members from grades 9th-12th to join the week of January 17th! We have a great show season planned that includes travelling by charter bus and singing the National Anthem at the Toledo walleye hockey game on March 19th! Don’t miss this exciting opportunity! Mrs. Stockton will gladly accept more than the 5 students requested! Talk to any current member to find out more. See you next Tuesday (Jan. 17th) during B/ C homeroom in south gym.
